Mission Statement

It shall be the mission of the Foundation to carry on those particular civic, cultural, educational, health and human services, and other non-religious charitable purposes which are of primary interest and concern of the owners of Stimson Lumber Company, not only in the greater Portland area, but also in those communities throughout the United States where Stimson Lumber Company conducts its business and other areas where Company shareholders reside or have charitable-giving interests…

Application Checklist

All grant applications must be submitted via our online application process prior to May 15, 2012. The required supplemental information must be postmarked no later than May 15, 2012 to be considered. Grants submitted after 5/15/12 will not be considered, without exception.

Required Supplemental Information:

  • A one-page (maximum) Executive Summary (optional)
  • A budget for the project to include:
    • the total annual operating budget amount for your organization (as detailed in the budget information requested below)
    • total project cost
    • amount requested of the Stimson-Miller Foundation
    • amounts requested from other funders (if applicable)
  • Most recent internal financial statements - to include income statement or profit and loss statement
  • The total annual budget for the organization
  • Copy of your most recent audited financial statements
  • Copy of your most recent 990 Tax Return
  • IRS letter indicating your nonprofit status
  • List of current Board of Directors
