Mission Statement

It shall be the mission of the Foundation to carry on those particular civic, cultural, educational, health and human services, and other non-religious charitable purposes which are of primary interest and concern of the owners of Stimson Lumber Company, not only in the greater Portland area, but also in those communities throughout the United States where Stimson Lumber Company conducts its business and other areas where Company shareholders reside or have charitable-giving interests…

2008 Application Process

All grant applications must be submitted via our online application process prior to July 15, 2008. The required supplemental information must be postmarked no later than July 15, 2008 to be considered. Grants submitted after 7/15/08 will not be considered, without exception.

The online process is as follows:

  • You enter the requested information on a form and submit the form
  • The information you entered is displayed for review
  • If the information is incorrect in any way, you may edit it
  • When you are satisfied that the information is correct, you continue to a confirmation
  • Print the confirmation page and use it as a check list and cover sheet to submit the additional required documents (view checklist)
  • An email will be sent to the project contact with confirmation information
The application schedule is as follows:
  • Accept Online Grant Applications Commencing - June 1st
  • Deadline for Submission of Grant Applications Materials - July 15th (Postmarked July 15th)
  • Stimson Miller Foundation Review Process - July through October
  • All applicants will be notified of the Board’s selection by week ending 11/21/08
